Colorful Colonial
At home in a converted cider mill
"We're petrified by color," says restaurant owner Carole Peck. She and her husband, Bernard Jarrier, enlivened the kitchen of their Connecticut home with salmon, chartreuse, and chocolate hues. The metal drawers of a 50-year-old baker's table (baskets replace missing drawers) are painted to match the walls' salmon tones. Carole often lets stews simmer all day long in the waist-high fireplace.
